Rare 1916 contemporary post card "The wreck they made of Church Street -Dublin May -1916". Unusual card in that it was written by a British soldier stationed at 50 St. Stephens Green to a friend in Plymouth dated 19th May,1916 : "I was in the tick of everything in Tralee" and relating how he would not be alive if Casement had not been captured. A separate typed of the soldier's comments facilities reading the card. Due to censorship it is rare to find contemporary accounts of 1916 rising particularly on a post card from a British participant
